“That’s Me!”, the new fragrance by Helene Fischer – available exclusively at Douglas – is the winner in the ‘Women’s Lifestyle’ category.
“No other celebrity in Germany is as beautiful and glamorous or has as much sex appeal as Helene Fischer! Everyone who comes into contact with her becomes an instant fan. Helene Fischer is a unique artist, and with her first fragrance “That’s Me!” she’s shown a very intimate side of herself. Douglas, the SA.G Group and Helene Fischer have worked with great passion and commitment to develop the fragrance. “That’s Me!” has been one of the most successful product launches in the history of Douglas, and this has made us all very proud,” says Claudia Reinery, chairperson of the management board at Parfümerie Douglas for Germany and Switzerland.
Other nominations in the ‘Lifestyle’ category were Woman by CHRISTINA AGUILERA, Batman Begins by BATMAN, 24/7 by BENCH, Collector’s Edition by JUSTIN BIEBER, Absolute Man by BRUNO BANANI, Eau de Gaga by LADY GAGA, Classic Blue by DAVID BECKHAM and Onika by NICKI MINAJ.
The German perfume prize DUFTSTARS is the most prestigious award in the cosmetics industry; it is presented each year by the German Fragrance Foundation as part of a glamorous gala event. This year, the ceremony took place for the twenty-third time on 7 May at Duftwerk Berlin, a converted power station in Germany’s capital. The coveted trophy was awarded in a total of 17 categories, recognising new and classic fragrances as well as flacon designs, advertising motifs, commercials and prominent names in the industry.
Barbara Schöneberger once again hosted the evening, which featured the best fragrance creations of the year and top-class acts. The guests included many well-known experts from the perfume industry as well as representatives from the realms of politics, business, media and culture.
This year’s DUFTSTARS gala once again proved to be an evening full of colourful highlights with guests such as Mariella Ahrens, Maxi Arland, Bettina Cramer, Ken Duken, Nazan Eckes, Bruno Eyron, Jorge Gonzalez, Regina Halmich, Wolke Hegenbarth, Motsi Mabuse, Alexander Mazza, Natascha Ochsenknecht, Gerit Kling, Miriam Pielhau, Verona Poth, Raúl Richter, Henriette Richter-Röhl, Patricia Riekel, Tina Ruland, Rolf Scheider and Jochen Schropp. Excellent performances by Marlon Roudette and Snap received enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
As the main sponsor, Douglas welcomed all guests to a unique Douglas lounge as it did last year – a bespoke creation for this special occasion. This time, guests to the after-party could look forward to a unique beauty casino – a luxury Monaco atmosphere at DUFTSTARS 2015! The white ball danced around the roulette wheel and chips exchanged hands between players and croupiers into the early hours.
As an extra touch, every nominated fragrance went on display in the Douglas lounge. After the ceremony, the winning fragrances were presented even more prominently in the form of large factice bottles.
This year, the Douglas lounge was once again the PLACE TO BE at the after-party.
Douglas also worked to promote the look good feel better patient initiative at DUFTSTARS – a project organised by the charity DKMS LIFE that is close to the hearts of the company’s staff. Each gala guest was given chips that could be used for a good cause. The winnings will be put towards look good feel better cosmetics seminars, which will brighten cancer patients’ days while they are receiving treatment.
Ruth Neri, look good feel better programme director at DKMS LIFE, was very pleased with the campaign in the Douglas lounge: “As a non-profit organisation, we depend on donations and strong partners. Without their support, it would not possible for us to offer our cosmetics seminars to cancer patients free of charge. We are therefore very grateful for the wonderful commitment shown by Douglas over many years.”
Douglas would like to congratulate all the winners at DUFTSTARS 2015.
