Perfume salesperson

Procedure

  • Your apprenticeship will last two years. You will work in one of our stores and attend a technical college at the same time.
  • Your core duties will be advising customers and making sales. You will receive in-depth training covering fragrances, decorative cosmetics and skincare alongside comprehensive sales training.
  • You will learn how to think and act in a customer-oriented manner and how to handle customer complaints successfully.

Requirements

  • You should have a basic or intermediate school leaving certificate.
  • You should be customer-focused and able to offer tailored advice.
  • You should be outgoing and able to approach people.
  • You should be a team player.
  • You should be passionate about the beauty sector and our products.
Retail salesperson

Procedure

  • Your apprenticeship will last three years. You will work in one of our stores and attend a technical college at the same time.

  • You will learn how to think and act in a customer-oriented manner. We will teach you how to handle customer complaints successfully.
  • You will become involved in our internal procedures, enabling you to take on even more responsibility.
  • Your apprenticeship will also include organizational and business-related tasks.

Retail sales specialist

Procedure

  • Your apprenticeship will last three years. You will work in one of our stores and attend a technical college at the same time.
  • Your core duties will be to advise customers and make sales. You will receive in-depth training covering fragrances, decorative cosmetics and skincare alongside comprehensive sales training.
  • You will learn how to think and act in a customer-oriented manner. We will prepare you for handling customer complaints successfully.
  • Even during your apprenticeship, we will prepare you for assisting our branch management with administrative duties.
  • After two years, you will qualify as a trained retail salesperson. In the third year of your apprenticeship, you will receive the officially recognized retail sales specialist qualification.

Requirements

  • You should have an Abitur or other higher education entrance qualification.
  • You should be looking for a responsible position in retail.
  • You should be passionate about our customers and offering them tailored advice.
  • You should be outgoing and able to approach people.
  • You should be a real team player and willing to take on a management role.
  • You should be passionate about the beauty sector and our products.

Selecting the right apprentices is very important to us. We have therefore developed a multi-stage selection process.

Pre-selection

When we check your documents, we attach great importance to a complete application with a covering letter, a CV and school reports. We pay particular attention to how you performed at school and your level of interest in Douglas as a company.

The Douglas Challenge

You have made it through the pre-selection process! The next step is to visit our Online Assessment Centre, which you can do from home. The majority of questions relate to everyday sales tasks, so these should be fairly straightforward. During the test, you will also be given useful information about Douglas and how our stores are organized.

The video interview

The last stage of the selection process is an online staggered video interview. The aim of the interview is to get to know you better. Once again, you can take part in the interview from home. We will ask typical interview questions in order to find out more about you.

The short-term internship

The short-term internship is the final step in the application process. It allows you to play an active role in our store business and to get a feel for how we work at Douglas and how we inspire our customers. Once you have completed the internship, we will let you know as quickly as possible whether your application has been successful, and if and when you can start an apprenticeship with us.
